Jose-in-the-kitchen

Introducing: José Pizarro – the latest addition to the Fragata family!

We are starting 2012 with some exciting news! This year, Fragata has the pleasure of working alongside… dare we say it, the best chef to come out of Spain… José Pizarro.

José has appeared several times on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen as well as UKTVFOOD’s Market Kitchen. In 2009, Jose published his first book, ‘Seasonal Spanish Food’ (out now in paperback for £15.99), which received great critical acclaim – and for recipe book lovers, keep your eyes peeled as he has a new book called Seasonal Flavours coming out in May this year!

Some of you may have been lucky enough to visit one (or both!) of José’s two restaurants on Bermondsey Street in London – José and Pizarro If you’ve not yet had that culinary pleasure, we definitely recommend that you visit! A highly skilled chef, José combines a menu of traditional, truly authentic Spanish food with a wonderful modern twist. His food really is ‘delicioso’ and happens to be perfect for sharing which is exactly what Fragata is all about.

José will be working with us to bring you numerous recipe videos; sharing his talents and passion for our products. One or two lucky people will even get the chance to cook alongside José thanks to several competitions throughout the year. How fantastic would that be?

José will also be one of our guest bloggers, providing general hints and tips about Spanish cooking and showing you how to refine your own cookery skills.

José is true to his roots with an unquestionable love for olives, tapas and Spain and for this reason we are delighted to have him on board. From everyone here at Fragata, a very warm welcome to José – we can’t wait to share his passion for food and expertise with you all!
