November is here, and before we get caught up in the chaos of Christmas, we’re celebrating a very exciting time – Vegan Month! Each November, vegans and non-vegans alike celebrate a lifestyle that is rapidly growing in popularity as people choose to live a compassionate life. If you’re participating in a vegan challenge this month, you can snack happy knowing that Fragata’s entire range (aside from the anchovy-stuffed olives) is vegan! Need some vegan-spiration? Here are the top 3 reasons why Fragata should be stocked in your cupboard this Vegan Month!

1. Umami Flavour

Umami, sometimes called the “fifth taste” (in addition to sweet, sour, bitter and salty) is the savoury flavour that’s present in meat and cheese-filled dishes. Many who try veganism for the first time lament the loss of umami in their food, claiming that there’s something “missing” from their favourite dishes. Good news, olives have that umami factor! They have a meaty texture and savoury flavour that can transform vegan dishes. Garlic is also an umami-rich food, so make sure you have plenty of Fragata’s garlic cloves and olives to hand!

2. Vegan Snacking on the Go

Our handy, mess-free and guilt-free pouches of Snack ‘n Olive are a delicious vegan snack. Each pouch counts as one of your 5-a-day and can easily be packed in a bag or lunchbox to ensure that you’ll always have a vegan snack to tuck into when you’re feeling peckish. With five delicious flavours to choose from, these are one vegan snack that tastes anything but boring!

3. Sweet Treat

It’s easy to ‘veganise’ your favourite desserts – no butter, milk or eggs required! Craving chocolate cake? SpamellaB and Fragata have got you covered with a ‘Not So Naughty’ Chocolate Cake. Filled with Fragata black olives, beetroot, vegan dark chocolate and gluten free flour, this cake recipe is as healthy as it tasty. The best part about it? It’s completely vegan, so celebrate Vegan Month in style with a moreish slice of chocolate cake.
